Just a quick one while we have some downtime before breakfast. We arrived in Mongolia last night after an 8 hour border crossing - this is good by all accounts! It wasn't really that stressful - just a lot of sitting about and filling in forms (we even did one in Mongolian before we realised it was available in English!), giving our passports to strange men, showing the contents of our bags to strange women etc etc. The health form was interesting as I realised that I basically have most of the symptoms of swine flu... ;-)
Slept on the train again last night (well most people did, I coughed my way through the night - but i think this is good - the hacking cough is usually the last place my colds migrate to so hopefully it's on its way out! Russian cold meds are RUBBISH though - i need some Flu Plus and that awesome drowsy cough mixture that makes everything all dreamy...)
Anyway, so far we have 1. changed money in to Mongolian Tughreks (this is totally spelt wrong - i'll look it up later) - and we're loaded 2. checked into our hotel and 3. had tepid showers. George is now snoozing and we're about to head out for breakfast with 'MG' - our Mongolia honcho whose real name is apparently unpronounceable to the western palate. Then we're going to the Gundin Monastery to see a morning service then to be honest I think we'll come back here and collapse - and maybe watch some rather addictive Lie2Me (thanks Natalie!!).
That's all for now!
